Marissa is intrigued by the purple scarf that Frankie is knitting, and not completely happy to find out that this one is for Frankie and not for her.

Marissa is somewhat reassured by a promise to make her one next, although not entirely satisfied with the waiting that appears to be required. Perhaps she will just knit herself one, but finds out that not having knitting needles could present a problem.

Mikaela slowly wakes up after her nap, and a comforting Mommy to cuddle with makes that much better.

The garden is off to a good start this year, a fact that the slugs are very happy about. The teepee for the beans seems a little lonely, although perhaps not as dismayed as the other beans still waiting for their poles. The new tomato cages rather dwarf the old ones, as well as the new wind-rotated flower in Marissa-approved purple that may discourage a few birds.

 

Daddy hasn't quite gotten into the garden thing yet. Growing plants is not nearly as exciting as torching helpless green things with his flame-thrower toy, although it is probably a small improvement over chemicals. At least he doesn't shoot them or run them down with his boat.

Marissa decides to model her new see-through jungle fashion swim wear along with the ever-present cat.

Mikaela, always the ham, cannot be left out of the fun, and models her somewhat more modest suit, even though it is a hand-me-down from her big sister.

As Longview is a long way from the beach, Marissa and Mikaela consider an alternate mode of transportation to get them there.

Deciding her swim attire much too modest for her tastes, Lady Godiva flashes some skin. After all, if you've got, flaunt it, a tactic of which Mommy may not always approve in later years.
